Pierre Morissette

Pierre Morissette, born on November 22, 1944, in Thetford Mines, Quebec, has dedicated his life to the service of the Roman Catholic Church. He was ordained as a priest on June 8, 1968, marking the beginning of a profound spiritual journey that would lead him to significant leadership roles within the Church.

His ecclesiastical career took a notable turn on February 27, 1987, when he was appointed as the auxiliary bishop in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Quebec, holding the title of titular bishop of Mesarfelta. This appointment was a testament to his commitment and capabilities within the Church.

On March 17, 1990, Morissette was appointed as the bishop of the Diocese of Baie-Comeau, where he served until July 3, 2008, when he transitioned to become the bishop of the Diocese of Saint-Jérôme. His leadership has been characterized by a deep commitment to his faith and the communities he serves.
