Pierre Soulages

Pierre Soulages, born on December twenty-fourth, nineteen nineteen, was a renowned French painter, printmaker, and sculptor. His artistic journey led him to become one of the most celebrated figures in contemporary art, with President François Hollande of France once declaring him 'the world's greatest living artist' in two thousand fourteen. Soulages' works are prominently featured in leading museums around the globe, and his hometown of Rodez boasts a dedicated museum showcasing his remarkable contributions to the art world.

Known affectionately as 'the painter of black', Soulages explored the color not just as a pigment but as a profound concept.
