Pinarayi Vijayan, born on March twenty-first, nineteen forty-four, is a prominent Indian politician who has made significant contributions to the state of Kerala. He currently serves as the twelfth Chief Minister of Kerala and is also the leader of the house in the legislative assembly. A dedicated member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)), Vijayan has held the position of the longest-serving secretary of the Kerala State Committee from nineteen ninety-eight to two thousand fifteen.

Vijayan's political journey includes serving as the Minister of Electric Power and Co-operatives during the third E. K. Nayanar ministry. His electoral success is notable, having won seats in both the May two thousand sixteen and two thousand twenty-one Kerala Legislative Assembly elections as the CPI(M) candidate for the Dharmadom constituency. His leadership was instrumental in the Left Democratic Front (LDF) coalition, leading to his re-election as Chief Minister.

In a historic achievement, Vijayan became the first Chief Minister from Kerala to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term in office. By two thousand twenty-two, he also surpassed C. Achutha Menon to become the longest-continuous serving Chief Minister of Kerala, with a tenure exceeding two thousand three hundred sixty-four consecutive days.

Among his notable initiatives is the LIFE Mission (Livelihood Inclusion and Financial Empowerment), part of the broader Nava Kerala Mission. This program aims to eradicate homelessness and landlessness in Kerala by providing safe housing and promoting financial empowerment through various livelihood support, social security schemes, and skill development programs.
