Polina Zhemchuzhina

Polina Zhemchuzhina, born on February twenty-eighth, nineteen ninety-seven, was a prominent Soviet politician and the wife of Vyacheslav Molotov, the Soviet foreign minister. Her career was marked by significant contributions to various sectors within the Soviet government.

From nineteen thirty-two to nineteen thirty-six, Zhemchuzhina served as the director of the Soviet national cosmetics trust, showcasing her leadership in the burgeoning cosmetics industry. Her expertise led her to become the Minister of Fisheries in nineteen thirty-nine, a role that underscored her influence in the economic landscape of the Soviet Union.

In addition to her ministerial role, Zhemchuzhina headed textiles production in the Ministry of Light Industry from nineteen thirty-nine to nineteen forty-eight, further solidifying her position as a key figure in Soviet industrial development.

However, her career took a dramatic turn in nineteen forty-eight when she was arrested by the Soviet secret police on charges of treason. This led to her internal exile, where she remained until after the death of Joseph Stalin in nineteen fifty-three, marking a tumultuous chapter in her life.
