Pope Celestine III, born Giacinto Bobone around the year one thousand one hundred five, served as the head of the Catholic Church and the ruler of the Papal States from March thirtieth or April tenth, one thousand one hundred ninety-one until his death on January eighth, one thousand one hundred ninety-eight.
