Pope Dionysius of Alexandria, born in the year one hundred ninety, served as the fourteenth Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria from December twenty-eight, two hundred forty-eight, until his passing on March twenty-two, two hundred sixty-four. His tenure is marked by a significant body of correspondence, which provides most of the information we have about him today.
Despite the scarcity of complete letters, one notable letter has survived in its entirety, while others are referenced in the works of Eusebius, a key historian of the early Church. This correspondence highlights his role as a prominent figure in the early Christian community.
