Porfirio Lobo Sosa

Porfirio Lobo Sosa, affectionately known as Pepe Lobo, is a prominent figure in Honduran politics and agriculture. Born on December twenty-second, nineteen forty-seven, he has made significant contributions to his country as a politician, business administrator, and agricultural landowner. Lobo's political career is marked by his tenure as the thirty-seventh President of Honduras, a position he held from January twenty-seventh, two thousand ten, to January twenty-seventh, two thousand fourteen.

A member of the conservative National Party, Lobo's political journey began when he was elected as a deputy in the National Congress of Honduras on January twenty-fifth, nineteen ninety. He later served as the president of the National Congress from January twenty-fifth, two thousand two, to January twenty-fifth, two thousand six. In the two thousand five general election, he garnered forty-six percent of the vote, finishing second to Manuel Zelaya.
