Pote Sarasin

Pote Sarasin, born on March twenty-fifth, nineteen oh five, was a prominent figure in Thai politics, serving as a diplomat, politician, and civil servant. He hailed from the influential Sarasin family, which played a significant role in shaping Thailand's political landscape.

His political career saw him take on various important roles, including that of Foreign Minister from nineteen forty-nine to nineteen fifty. Following this, he served as the Ambassador to the United States, where he represented Thailand's interests on the global stage.

In September nineteen fifty-seven, amidst a military coup led by Sarit Thanarat, Pote was appointed as the Prime Minister of Thailand. His tenure, however, was brief, lasting only until December of the same year. Despite the short duration, his leadership during a tumultuous time was notable.

Additionally, Pote Sarasin made history as the first Secretary General of the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization, a position he held from September nineteen fifty-seven until nineteen sixty-three, further solidifying his influence in regional diplomacy.
