Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar

Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, born on May twenty-first, nineteen twenty-one, was a multifaceted philosopher, writer, composer, and linguist. He is best known as a spiritual guru and social reformer who made significant contributions to the fields of spirituality and social justice. In nineteen fifty-five, he founded Ananda Marga, a spiritual and social organization dedicated to promoting meditation, yoga, and various social service initiatives worldwide.

Sarkar's teachings were a unique synthesis of Vedic and Tantric philosophies, through which he sought to transcend religious dogmas, casteism, materialism, and capitalism. He viewed these constructs as barriers to social harmony and spiritual advancement. His perspective on the universe was that it is a manifestation of consciousness, which becomes bound by its own nature, leading to the process of creation.

Emphasizing the importance of diversity as a natural law, Sarkar articulated a vision of Singular Consciousness expressing itself in myriad forms. His socio-economic philosophy, known as PROUT, advocates for the welfare of humanity and the planet, rooted in the principles of Neohumanism. This worldview highlights the interconnectedness of all beings, promoting a holistic approach to social and spiritual development.
