Prem Nazir, born on December 16, 1929, was a celebrated Indian actor who became a defining figure in Malayalam cinema. Renowned for his charismatic performances, he is often hailed as one of the most influential actors in the annals of Indian cinema. His enduring legacy earned him the affectionate title of Nithyaharitha Nayakan, or 'Evergreen Hero,' a testament to his lasting impact on the cultural landscape of Kerala.

Beginning his artistic journey as a stage actor, Nazir made his film debut in 1952 with the movie Marumakal. It was during the production of his second film, Visappinte Vili, that he adopted the stage name Prem Nazir, a moniker bestowed upon him by the esteemed actor Thikkurissi. Over the years, he captivated audiences with memorable performances in films such as Murappennu, Udhyogastha, and Iruttinte Athmavu, among many others.

Throughout his illustrious career, Nazir garnered numerous accolades, including the Kerala State Film Award for his remarkable portrayal of Madhavan Kutty in Vida Parayum Munpe.
