Geoffrey Royce Rojas, known to the world as Prince Royce, was born on May 11, 1989. From a young age, he displayed a passion for music, which blossomed during his teenage years as he began to write poetry and experiment with various musical styles. At the age of nineteen, his career took a significant turn when he met Andrés Hidalgo, who would become his manager and guide him through the early stages of his professional journey.
In March 2010, Prince Royce released his self-titled debut studio album, which quickly garnered attention and acclaim. The album produced two hit singles, "Stand by Me" and "Corazón Sin Cara," both of which reached the number-one spot on the Billboard Tropical Songs chart. Notably, "Corazón Sin Cara" also topped the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, while the album itself achieved number-one status on the US Billboard Top Latin Albums and Tropical Albums charts. His success at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in 2011, where he won three awards including Tropical Album of the Year, solidified his place in the music industry.
Following his debut, Royce continued to build on his success with the release of his second studio album, Phase II, in 2012. This album also reached number-one on both the US Latin Albums and Tropical Albums charts, featuring popular singles like "Las Cosas Pequeñas" and "Incondicional." In 2013, he released his third studio album, Soy el Mismo, which included the hit single "Darte un Beso" and garnered another Latin Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Tropical Album. Royce's fourth studio album, Double Vision, released in 2015, marked a shift as it was primarily in English. This album featured collaborations with notable artists such as Snoop Dogg and Jennifer Lopez, with singles like "Stuck on a Feeling" and "Back It Up" making waves on the Billboard Hot 100.
His fifth studio album, Five, was released in 2017 and became his fourth number-one album on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. The album's standout single, "Déjà Vu," featuring Shakira, achieved remarkable commercial success, earning a nine times Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the US. Prince Royce's journey in music continues to inspire many, as he remains a prominent figure in the industry.
