Prince William of Gloucester

Prince William of Gloucester, born on December eighteenth, nineteen forty-one, was a distinguished member of the British royal family. As the elder son of Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, and Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, he was a grandson of King George V and a first cousin to Queen Elizabeth II. At the time of his birth, he was fourth in line to the throne, a position that shifted to ninth by the time of his untimely death.

A graduate of both Cambridge and Stanford universities, William embarked on a career in diplomacy, joining the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. His service took him to various international postings, including Lagos and Tokyo, before he returned to fulfill royal duties. His contributions to both the royal family and his diplomatic career were notable, reflecting his commitment to public service.

Tragically, William was diagnosed with porphyria, a hereditary condition that had previously affected his ancestor, King George III. His life was cut short in nineteen seventy-two when he died in an air crash at the age of thirty while piloting his plane during a competition.
