Princess Irene of Hesse and by Rhine, born Irène Luise Marie Anne on July eleventh, eighteen sixty-six, was a prominent aristocrat and a member of the illustrious House of Hesse. She was the third child and daughter of Princess Alice of the United Kingdom and Louis IV, Grand Duke of Hesse and by Rhine.
