Protase Rugambwa, born on May thirty-first, nineteen sixty, is a distinguished Tanzanian prelate of the Catholic Church. He has recently taken on the role of metropolitan archbishop of the Archdiocese of Tabora, a position he has held since November twenty twenty-three, following a seven-month tenure as coadjutor.
Before his current appointment, Rugambwa served as the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples from November twenty seventeen to April twenty twenty-three.
