Protima Bedi

Protima Gauri Bedi, born on 12 October 1948, was a remarkable Indian model who transitioned into the world of dance, becoming a celebrated Odissi dancer. Her journey in the arts was marked by a deep passion for performance and a commitment to cultural expression.

In 1990, Protima took a significant step in her career by founding Nrityagram, a pioneering dance school located near Bangalore, Karnataka. This institution not only served as a training ground for aspiring dancers but also played a crucial role in reviving and promoting the classical dance form of Odissi.
