He held the esteemed position of the twelfth Minister of Foreign Affairs from December twenty twenty-two until July twenty twenty-three, and served as State Councillor from March to October twenty twenty-three.

Before his tenure as Minister, Qin made significant contributions as the Ambassador of China to the United States from twenty twenty-one to twenty twenty-three. His career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also included roles as vice minister from twenty eighteen to twenty twenty-one, director of protocol from twenty fifteen to twenty eighteen, and director of information from twenty eleven to twenty fifteen.

In June twenty twenty-three, Qin Gang mysteriously disappeared from public view, leading to his removal from the Minister of Foreign Affairs position on July twenty-five, twenty twenty-three.
