Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of R. B. Bennett

R. B. Bennett, born on July 3, 1870, in Hopewell Hill, New Brunswick, was a prominent Canadian lawyer, businessman, philanthropist, and politician. He grew up in nearby Hopewell Cape and pursued his legal studies at Dalhousie University, graduating in 1893. Bennett's political career began in the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories, where he served from 1898 to 1905. He briefly held the position of the inaugural leader of the Alberta Conservative Party before serving in the Alberta Legislature from 1909 to 1911. After resigning to join the House of Commons, he served as minister of justice under Arthur Meighen in 1921 and returned to the Commons in 1925, briefly holding the position of minister of finance in 1926.
