Raden Wijaya

Raden Wijaya, also known by his regnal name Kertarajasa Jayawardhana, was a prominent Javanese prince born in the year 1250. He is celebrated as the founder of the Majapahit Empire, a powerful realm that dominated Java and extended its influence across the Nusantara, encompassing parts of both Asia and Oceania until the sixteenth century.

His reign, which spanned from 1292 until his death in 1309, was marked by significant military achievements, including a notable victory against the forces of Kublai Khan's Yuan dynasty. This triumph not only solidified his power but also established Majapahit as a formidable empire in the region.

The legacy of Raden Wijaya's rule is chronicled in several historical texts, including the Pararaton and the Negarakertagama, which detail the events surrounding the establishment of the Majapahit Empire and its subsequent expansion.
