Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Rafael Caro Quintero

Rafael Caro Quintero, born on October 24, 1952, is a notorious figure in the world of drug trafficking, having co-founded the Guadalajara Cartel in the late 1970s alongside Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo and other prominent traffickers. This cartel was instrumental in the transportation of vast quantities of marijuana from Mexico to the United States, marking a significant era in the drug trade.

In 1985, Caro Quintero was implicated in the heinous kidnapping and murder of several individuals, including DEA agent Enrique 'Kiki' Camarena. This act not only drew international attention but also led to his eventual arrest and a forty-year prison sentence in Mexico. Following his incarceration, the Guadalajara Cartel disbanded, with its members merging into other cartels such as the Tijuana, Sinaloa, and Juárez Cartels.

After serving twenty-eight years behind bars, Caro Quintero was released in August 2013 due to a legal technicality. However, his freedom was short-lived as a federal court quickly issued an arrest warrant against him, citing his ongoing involvement in drug trafficking and the 1985 murders. He became a fugitive, wanted in multiple countries, and was placed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list in April 2018, with a reward of twenty million dollars offered for information leading to his capture.

Despite his attempts to evade justice, Caro Quintero's luck ran out when he was arrested in Mexico on July 15, 2022. Following a lengthy legal battle, he was extradited to the United States on February 27, 2025, where he faces serious charges related to his criminal activities.
