Raffi Torres, born on October eighth, nineteen eighty-one, is a former professional ice hockey left winger from Canada. He was selected fifth overall by the New York Islanders in the two thousand NHL entry draft, marking the beginning of a notable career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Over the years, Torres showcased his skills with several teams, including the Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes, and San Jose Sharks.

Before turning professional, Torres honed his talents in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Brampton Battalion, where he earned recognition as a two-time OHL Second Team All-Star. He began his professional journey in the two thousand one–two thousand two season with the Islanders' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, gradually making his way to the NHL. His time with the Oilers was particularly significant, as he became a full-time player and contributed to the team's run to the Stanley Cup Final in two thousand six.

After a successful stint in Edmonton, Torres was traded to the Blue Jackets in the two thousand eight off-season, followed by brief periods with the Sabres and Canucks, where he again reached the Stanley Cup Final in two thousand eleven. His career continued with the Coyotes and Sharks, but it was marred by suspensions due to illegal hits, including a notable incident that led to the fourth-longest suspension in NHL history at the time.
