Ragnar Sigurðsson

Ragnar Sigurðsson, born on June nineteenth, nineteen eighty-six, is a distinguished Icelandic former professional footballer who made his mark as a centre-back. He began his career with Fylkir, where he honed his skills before moving on to play for several prominent clubs across Europe, including IFK Göteborg, Copenhagen, Krasnodar, Fulham, Rubin Kazan, Rostov, and Rukh Lviv. After an illustrious playing career, Ragnar returned to Fylkir, where he retired in two thousand twenty-one.

Throughout his career, Ragnar was a vital member of the Iceland national team, earning ninety-seven caps from two thousand seven to two thousand twenty. He proudly represented his country at the UEFA Euro two thousand sixteen, where Iceland reached the quarter-finals, and at the FIFA World Cup in two thousand eighteen, showcasing his talent on the world stage.

In November two thousand twenty-two, Ragnar transitioned into coaching, taking on the role of assistant manager at Fram Reykjavik. His leadership skills were further recognized in July two thousand twenty-three when he stepped up as the caretaker manager following the departure of Jón Þórir Sveinsson, marking a new chapter in his football journey.
