Regarded as one of the greatest and most influential figures in Indian cinema, Kapoor earned the monikers of The Greatest Showman of Indian Cinema and The Charlie Chaplin of Indian Cinema. His cinematic journey was heavily inspired by Charlie Chaplin, leading him to portray characters reminiscent of The Tramp in iconic films such as Awaara (1951), Shree 420 (1955), and Mera Naam Joker (1970).

Kapoor's performance in Awaara was celebrated globally, being ranked among the Top-Ten Greatest Performances of All Time in World Cinema by Time magazine in two thousand five. His films, including Awaara and Boot Polish (1954), garnered international acclaim, competing for the prestigious Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in nineteen fifty-one and nineteen fifty-five.
