Raj Reddy

Raj Reddy, born on June thirteenth, nineteen thirty-seven, is a distinguished Indian-American computer scientist renowned for his pioneering contributions to artificial intelligence. With a remarkable career spanning over fifty years, he has held esteemed faculty positions at both Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon University, where he has significantly influenced the field of computer science.

As the founding director of the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon, Reddy played a crucial role in advancing robotics and AI research. His commitment to education is evident through his instrumental efforts in establishing the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies in India, aimed at providing educational opportunities for low-income, gifted rural youth.

Reddy's leadership extends to his role as the founding chairman of the International Institute of Information Technology in Hyderabad, further showcasing his dedication to fostering technological education.
