Rajon Pierre Rondo Sr., born on February 22, 1986, is a distinguished American former professional basketball player known for his exceptional skills on the court. Rondo's career is highlighted by two NBA championships and four selections as an NBA All-Star. His defensive prowess earned him four NBA All-Defensive Team honors, including two First Team accolades, and he was named to the All-NBA Third Team in 2012.

Rondo's journey began at the University of Kentucky, where he played two years of college basketball before entering the NBA. He was drafted twenty-first overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2006 NBA draft but was quickly traded to the Boston Celtics. As the starting point guard for the Celtics, Rondo played a pivotal role in leading the team to victory in the NBA Finals in 2008 and returning to the championship series in 2010.

Renowned for his versatility, Rondo led the league in assists three times and in steals once, ranking fourth in assists and third in steals in Celtics history. His ability to fill the stat sheet is evident, with thirty-two regular season triple-doubles placing him sixteenth in NBA history and ten in the playoffs ranking sixth. Rondo is often celebrated as one of the greatest point guards in Celtics history.
