Raman Parimala, born on November twenty-first, nineteen forty-eight, is a distinguished Indian mathematician celebrated for her significant contributions to the field of algebra. Currently, she holds the prestigious position of Arts & Sciences Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Emory University, where she continues to inspire and educate the next generation of mathematicians.
Before her tenure at Emory, Parimala was a prominent faculty member at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in Mumbai, where she dedicated many years to advancing mathematical research and education.
