Ramanathan Krishnan

Ramanathan Krishnan, born on April 11, 1932, is a celebrated retired tennis player from India, renowned for his remarkable contributions to the sport during the 1950s and 1960s. His career was marked by significant achievements, including reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon in both 1960 and 1961, where he showcased his exceptional talent on the international stage.

Throughout his active years from 1953 to 1975, Krishnan ascended to the prestigious rank of World No. 3 in Potter's amateur rankings. His prowess on the court was further demonstrated by his impressive tally of sixty-nine singles titles, a testament to his skill and dedication to tennis.

In addition to his individual accomplishments, Krishnan played a pivotal role in elevating Indian tennis on the global front. He led the Indian team to the Challenge Round of the 1966 Davis Cup against Australia, a significant milestone in the nation's tennis history.
