Ramires Santos do Nascimento, born on March 24, 1987, is a distinguished Brazilian former professional footballer known for his versatility as a midfielder. His career began at Royal Sport Club in Barra do Piraí, located 114 kilometers north-west of Rio de Janeiro, where he showcased his potential before moving to Joinville in 2005. Ramires then joined Cruzeiro, where he made a significant impact over two seasons, participating in 61 league matches and netting 10 goals.
In 2009, Ramires took his talents to Portugal, signing with Benfica. During his single season with the club, he played a pivotal role in securing the Primeira Liga title and the Taça da Liga. His impressive performances caught the attention of English club Chelsea, which he joined in the summer of 2010. At Chelsea, Ramires enjoyed a successful tenure, winning every major domestic and European competition, solidifying his status as a key player.
