Randy Forbes, born on February seventeenth, nineteen fifty-two, is a prominent American politician and lawyer known for his extensive service in various legislative roles. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, he represented Virginia's fourth congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from two thousand one until two thousand seventeen. His political journey began in the Virginia House of Delegates, followed by a tenure in the Virginia State Senate, where he also held the position of Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia.
During his time in Congress, Forbes made significant contributions as the Chairman of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee. His expertise in military affairs was recognized during the Donald Trump administration when he was considered for the role of Secretary of the Navy. Although he campaigned vigorously for Trump in the two thousand sixteen presidential election, he was ultimately passed over for the nomination on two occasions.
After leaving Congress, Forbes continued to influence military and defense policy as a senior distinguished fellow at the U.S. Naval War College from February to December of two thousand seventeen. In addition to his political endeavors, he founded Project Blitz, a controversial organization aimed at providing state legislators with model legislation that seeks to intertwine religion with public education, challenge reproductive healthcare, and undermine LGBTQ equality under the guise of “religious freedom,” as reported by watchdog Blitzwatch.
