Raphael Saadiq, born on May fourteenth, nineteen sixty-six, is a multifaceted American artist known for his exceptional talents as a singer, songwriter, and record producer. He first gained recognition as the lead vocalist and bassist of the influential R&B group Tony! Toni! Toné!, which he co-founded in nineteen eighty-six with his brother D'Wayne and cousin Timothy Christian Riley. The band, initially named 'Tony, Toni, Toné' as a playful joke, quickly embraced the name for its catchy appeal, leading to a successful career that included four albums: Who! (nineteen eighty-eight), The Revival (nineteen ninety), Sons of Soul (nineteen ninety-three), and House of Music (nineteen ninety-six).
In addition to his work with Tony! Toni! Toné!, Saadiq has made significant contributions to the R&B genre as a producer and songwriter for a plethora of renowned artists, including Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, and Beyoncé.
