Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Rauf Orbay

Rauf Orbay, born on July twenty-seventh, eighteen eighty-one, was a distinguished Turkish naval officer, statesman, and diplomat of Abkhaz origin. He gained recognition during the Italo–Turkish and Balkan Wars, earning the title of the Hero of Hamidiye for his remarkable leadership as captain of the cruiser Hamidiye.

In October nineteen eighteen, Orbay briefly held the position of Minister of Navy, where he played a pivotal role in signing the Armistice of Mudros on behalf of the Ottoman Empire. His contributions were significant during the Turkish War of Independence, where he served as the prime minister of the Ankara government from July twelfth, nineteen twenty-two, to August fourth, nineteen twenty-three.

As a prominent figure in the Republican period, Orbay was one of the founders of the Progressive Republican Party. However, his political career faced challenges when he was put on trial for his alleged involvement in an assassination attempt against Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, resulting in a ten-year prison sentence.

After his rehabilitation in nineteen thirty-nine, Orbay returned to public service as a member of parliament for Kastamonu and later served as the ambassador to London, continuing to influence Turkish politics and diplomacy.
