Raúl Grijalva, born on February nineteenth, nineteen forty-eight, was a prominent American politician and activist who dedicated his life to public service. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Arizona, representing various congressional districts throughout his career. Grijalva's political journey began in two thousand three, where he first represented Arizona's seventh congressional district until two thousand thirteen.
In two thousand thirteen, he transitioned to represent Arizona's third congressional district, a role he held until two thousand twenty-three. Following this, he returned to the seventh district, serving until his untimely passing in two thousand twenty-five. His districts encompassed significant areas, including the western third of Tucson, parts of Yuma and Nogales, and some peripheral regions of metropolitan Phoenix.
In October two thousand twenty-four, Grijalva announced that he would not seek re-election in two thousand twenty-six due to ongoing treatments for lung cancer. Unfortunately, he passed away before completing his final term, leaving a legacy of dedication and service. Following his death, a special election was held on September twenty-third, two thousand twenty-five, where his daughter, Adelita Grijalva, was elected to fulfill the remainder of his term.
