Raúl Labrador

Raúl Labrador, born on December eighth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a prominent American lawyer and politician. He currently serves as the thirty-third attorney general of Idaho, a position he has held since two thousand twenty-three. A dedicated member of the Republican Party, Labrador has a rich political history, having represented Idaho's first congressional district from two thousand eleven to two thousand nineteen.

Before his tenure in Congress, Labrador made his mark in the Idaho House of Representatives, where he represented the fourteenth district from two thousand six to two thousand ten. His entry into Congress was marked by a significant victory in the two thousand ten Republican primary, bolstered by the support of Tea Party activists, and he subsequently defeated the Democratic incumbent, Walt Minnick, in the general election.

In two thousand fourteen, Labrador sought to elevate his political career by challenging Kevin McCarthy for the position of House Majority Leader, positioning himself as a conservative alternative. He was also one of the nine inaugural members of the House Freedom Caucus, a group known for its right-wing stance within Congress.

In two thousand eighteen, Labrador opted to focus on a gubernatorial campaign, choosing not to seek re-election to Congress. He finished second in the Republican primary to Lieutenant Governor Brad Little, who ultimately won the election. His political journey continued as he sought the nomination for state attorney general in the two thousand twenty-two election, where he successfully defeated longtime incumbent Lawrence Wasden and Democratic nominee Tom Arkoosh in the general election.
