Raymond Bernier

Raymond Bernier, born on November sixth, nineteen fifty-two, is a prominent Canadian politician hailing from Quebec City, Quebec. He has made significant contributions to the political landscape of Quebec, particularly as a member of the Quebec Liberal Party. Bernier first entered the National Assembly of Quebec by winning the Montmorency riding in the two thousand three provincial election.

His political journey has seen both triumphs and challenges. After his initial victory, he faced defeat in the two thousand seven provincial election against Hubert Benoît from the Action démocratique du Québec. However, Bernier made a strong comeback, securing re-election in the two thousand eight provincial election, reaffirming his commitment to public service.

Before his political career, Bernier obtained a college degree in administrative sciences from the Cégep de Limoilou and later a bachelor's degree in the same field from the Université Laval. His professional background includes roles as a financial management agent and various positions within the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité au travail (CSST) and the Treasury Board Secretariat.

In addition to his provincial roles, Bernier served as a councillor and substitute mayor for the municipality of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures for eight years. After his two thousand seven defeat, he took on the role of Chief Cabinet for Minister Monique Gagnon-Tremblay. In two thousand nineteen, he attempted to return to politics as an independent candidate but was again defeated by a Liberal Party candidate.
