Lovell's personal life was marked by two significant marriages. He first married Margot Ruddock, an accomplished actress, singer, and poet, with whom he had a daughter named Simone. However, their relationship faced challenges when Ruddock began an affair with the renowned poet W. B. Yeats in nineteen thirty-four, the same year their daughter was born. In nineteen forty-seven, Lovell married Tamara Desni, but this union ended in divorce in nineteen fifty-one.
