Raymond Yong

Raymond Yong, born on April tenth, nineteen twenty-nine, is a distinguished retired Canadian environmental engineer whose contributions to the field have left a lasting impact. His journey began under the guidance of his father, Yong Ngim Djin, who served as the principal of the Anglo-Chinese School. This early influence, combined with the support of his godfather, a Methodist missionary, led him to pursue his studies in the United States at Washington & Jefferson College.

Initially embarking on a path in medicine, Yong soon discovered his true passion lay in physics. This pivotal decision set the stage for a remarkable career, during which he became a prominent instructor at McGill University.
