Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior

Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior, born on July fifteenth, nineteen fifty-six, is a prominent South Sudanese politician currently serving as one of the vice presidents of South Sudan. In addition to her vice presidential role, she leads the Gender and Youth Cluster, advocating for the rights and empowerment of women and youth in the nation.

Her political career includes significant contributions as the Minister of Roads and Transport for the autonomous government of Southern Sudan. From two thousand seven to two thousand fourteen, she served as an advisor to the President of South Sudan, focusing on gender and human rights issues, which highlights her commitment to social justice and equality.

Rebecca is also known for her personal connection to South Sudan's political history as the widow of John Garang, the First Vice President of Sudan and the inaugural President of the Southern Sudan Autonomous Region. Together, they have a daughter, Akuol de Mabior, who continues the family's legacy in public service.
