Rebecca Sugar

Rebecca Sugar, born on July ninth, nineteen eighty-seven, is a multifaceted American animator, screenwriter, composer, and musician. She has made significant contributions to the world of children's television, particularly as a pioneer of LGBTQ representation. Sugar is best known for creating the groundbreaking Cartoon Network series, Steven Universe, which marked her as the first non-binary individual to independently develop a series for the network. Before this landmark achievement, she was recognized as the first woman to accomplish such a feat.

Prior to her work on Steven Universe, which premiered in two thousand thirteen, Sugar honed her skills as a writer and storyboard artist on the beloved animated series Adventure Time.
