Reena Roy

Reena Roy, born on January seventh, nineteen fifty-seven, is a celebrated Indian actress who made her mark in the film industry as a teenager. She debuted in B R Ishara's Zaroorat in nineteen seventy-two, but it was her performances in Jaise Ko Taisa and the romance-action film Zakhmee that catapulted her to fame in the early seventies.

By nineteen seventy-six, Roy had firmly established herself in the top tier of Bollywood stars, thanks to her roles in the action thriller Kalicharan and the horror-fantasy film Nagin. Her success continued with notable films like Vishwanath in nineteen seventy-eight and Aasha in nineteen eighty, solidifying her status as a leading actress of her time.

Despite winning the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Apnapan in nineteen seventy-seven, Roy declined the award due to personal reasons. Nevertheless, she enjoyed a successful career throughout the late seventies and early eighties, featuring in several significant films, including the horror classic Jaani Dushman and the romantic comedy Sanam Teri Kasam.

In nineteen eighty-three, Reena Roy married cricketer Mohsin Khan and took a sabbatical from acting, relocating to Pakistan where she gave birth to her daughter, Jannat, known as Sanam Khan. After her divorce in nineteen ninety-two, she returned to India and made a comeback with the drama Aadmi Khilona Hai in nineteen ninety-three, followed by supporting roles in films like Ajay and Refugee.

In recent years, Roy has focused on raising her daughter while making occasional television appearances, including a stint on Indian Idol. Together with her sister Barkha, she also runs an acting school, continuing her legacy in the film industry.
