Renate Groenewold

Renate Groenewold, born on October eighth, nineteen seventy-six, is a distinguished former long track speed skater and road bicycle racer from the Netherlands. Throughout her illustrious career, she has made significant contributions to both sports, showcasing her exceptional talent and determination.

Groenewold's achievements in speed skating are remarkable. She has clinched several Dutch Championships, winning the Dutch allround championship in nineteen ninety-nine, two thousand two, and two thousand three. Her prowess at the European Allround Championships is evident, where she earned multiple medals, including a silver medal in two thousand five, marking her best result at the event.

Her Olympic journey includes participation in the two thousand two Winter Olympics, where she secured a silver medal in the three thousand meters. At the two thousand six Winter Olympics, she faced tough competition from rookie Ireen Wüst, who claimed gold in the same event, leaving Groenewold with another silver. Additionally, she competed in the two thousand ten Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Transitioning to cycling, Groenewold joined Team DSB Bank in two thousand seven, a professional women's cycling team that participated in international competitions.
