René Audet

René Audet, born on January 18, 1920, in Montreal, Quebec, was a prominent figure in the Roman Catholic Church in Canada. His journey began when he was ordained as a priest on May 30, 1948, marking the start of a dedicated service to his faith and community.

On May 21, 1963, Audet was appointed as the Auxiliary Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ottawa, alongside his role as Titular Bishop of Chonochora. His episcopal ordination took place on July 31, 1963, solidifying his commitment to the Church and its followers.

Audet's leadership continued to flourish, and on January 3, 1968, he was appointed as the Bishop of the Diocese of Joliette. He served in this capacity with distinction until his resignation on October 31, 1990, leaving a lasting impact on the diocese and its parishioners.
