René Llense

René Llense, born on July 14, 1913, in Collioure, Pyrénées-Orientales, was a distinguished French football goalkeeper whose career spanned several notable clubs, including FC Sète and AS Saint-Étienne. His skills on the pitch earned him recognition as a formidable player during his time.

Llense's contributions to the France national football team were significant, as he earned eleven caps between 1935 and 1939. His international career included participation in two FIFA World Cups, in 1934 and 1938, marking him as a key figure in French football history.

Remarkably, he was the last surviving player from the pre-war World Cups, a testament to his longevity and the impact he had on the sport. René celebrated his one hundredth birthday in July 2013, a milestone that highlighted his remarkable life and career.
