René Richard Cyr, born on September twenty-seventh, nineteen fifty-eight, is a distinguished Canadian actor, playwright, and theatre director hailing from Montreal, Quebec. He is best known for his memorable performances as barber Méo Bellemare in the films Babine and Ésimésac, as well as his portrayal of the drag queen Veronica Sinclair in Cover Girl. Cyr has also made significant contributions to the theatrical landscape, particularly through his direction of numerous plays by the acclaimed playwright Michel Tremblay.
