Revaz Gabriadze

Revaz Gabriadze, born on June twenty-ninth, nineteen thirty-six, is a multifaceted Georgian artist renowned for his contributions as a theatre and film director, playwright, writer, painter, and sculptor. His creative journey began after graduating from the Higher Scriptwriters' Courses in Moscow, where he honed his skills in storytelling and visual arts.

Gabriadze's career took flight as he collaborated with the esteemed director Georgiy Daneliya, co-writing some of the most beloved films in Georgian cinema, including the iconic 'Mimino' and the cult classic 'Kin-dza-dza!'. His work not only showcased his talent as a screenwriter but also highlighted his versatility as a scenographer and illustrator.

In nineteen eighty-one, Gabriadze founded a puppet theatre in Kutaisi, further cementing his legacy in the performing arts. His innovative approach to theatre and film earned him the prestigious USSR State Prize in nineteen eighty-nine, a testament to his impact on the cultural landscape of Georgia.

Beyond his cinematic achievements, Gabriadze is also known for his artistic endeavors in painting and sculpture, showcasing his diverse talents across various mediums. His son, Levan Gabriadze, continues the family tradition in the arts as an actor and film director.
