His international experience includes a significant contribution to Team Canada, where he helped secure a bronze medal at the nineteen ninety-five World Championship in Austria.

After the World Championship, Chernomaz continued his career in Europe, spending his final four seasons with the SERC Wild Wings in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).
