Rich Chernomaz

Rich Chernomaz, born on September first, nineteen sixty-three, is a distinguished Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional player. He made his mark as a right winger, showcasing his skills in the National Hockey League (NHL) with teams such as the Colorado Rockies, New Jersey Devils, and Calgary Flames, where he played a total of fifty-one games.

While his NHL career was brief, Chernomaz's true prowess was displayed in the minor leagues. He earned recognition as a two-time all-star in the International Hockey League (IHL) and was honored with the Les Cunningham Award in nineteen ninety-four, recognizing him as the most valuable player in the American Hockey League (AHL). His international experience includes a significant contribution to Team Canada, where he helped secure a bronze medal at the nineteen ninety-five World Championship in Austria.

After the World Championship, Chernomaz continued his career in Europe, spending his final four seasons with the SERC Wild Wings in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Transitioning to coaching in nineteen ninety-nine, he led various DEL teams to success, clinching two German championships during his tenure.

In addition to his club coaching, Chernomaz took on the role of head coach for the Hungarian national team at the twenty-thirteen World Championship, further solidifying his legacy in the sport.
