Richard Roeper

Richard E. Roeper, born on October 17, 1959, is a prominent American writer and film critic, renowned for his insightful commentary on cinema. His career as a columnist and film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times spanned an impressive thirty-nine years, beginning in 1986 and concluding in 2025. During this time, he became a trusted voice in film criticism, influencing audiences and filmmakers alike.

Roeper gained national recognition as the co-host of the television series At the Movies alongside the legendary Roger Ebert from 2000 to 2008, stepping into the role previously held by Gene Siskel.
