Known for his versatility on the pitch, Stearman excelled primarily as a centre half or right-back, showcasing his ability to adapt to various defensive roles throughout his career.

Stearman's football journey began at Leicester City, where he joined the academy in nineteen ninety-eight. He turned professional in two thousand four and made his senior debut the same year. His tenure at Leicester City laid the foundation for a successful career, which saw him move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in two thousand eight. Over the next seven years, he became a key player for Wolves, including a loan spell at Ipswich Town in two thousand thirteen.

In two thousand fifteen, Stearman signed with Fulham, where he remained until two thousand seventeen, including another loan back to Wolverhampton during the two thousand sixteen to seventeen season. His career continued at Sheffield United, and after being released in January twenty twenty, he joined Huddersfield Town, where he played until June twenty twenty-one.

In August twenty twenty-one, Stearman made a move to Derby County, where he spent two years before being released in May twenty twenty-three. Most recently, in August twenty twenty-three, he joined Solihull Moors, although his time there concluded with his release in May twenty twenty-four.
