Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Rick Bowness

Rick Bowness, born on January twenty-fifth, nineteen fifty-five, is a distinguished Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. Currently, he serves as the head coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets in the National Hockey League (NHL). Bowness was selected in the second round of the nineteen seventy-five NHL amateur draft, being the twenty-sixth overall pick by the Atlanta Flames. His playing career saw him don the jerseys of the Flames, Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, and the original Winnipeg Jets.

Transitioning from player to coach, Bowness has had an extensive coaching career, leading teams such as the original Winnipeg Jets, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, and the current Winnipeg Jets. His experience is further enriched by his roles as an assistant coach with the original Jets, Coyotes, Vancouver Canucks, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Stars.

As of twenty twenty-six, Bowness stands out as the last active coach in the NHL who was also a head coach during the nineteen eighties. Notably, he is the only coach to have led both iterations of the Winnipeg Jets. His remarkable tenure in the league is highlighted by his record of two thousand seven hundred twenty-six games as either a head or assistant coach, the most in NHL history.
