Rick Mahorn

Rick Mahorn, born on September twenty-first, nineteen fifty-eight, is a distinguished American former professional basketball player and current basketball coach. He made his mark in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a power forward and center, playing for notable teams such as the Washington Bullets, Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, and New Jersey Nets. Today, he serves as a radio analyst for the Detroit Pistons and co-hosts on SiriusXM NBA Radio, while also taking on the role of head coach for the Aliens in the BIG3 league during the summer months.

Mahorn is best known for his physical style of play and was a key member of the infamous late 1980s Detroit Pistons squad, famously dubbed "The Bad Boys." His contributions to the team were instrumental in securing the NBA Championship in nineteen eighty-nine, solidifying his legacy in the sport.

Following his playing career, Mahorn transitioned into coaching, initially serving as an assistant coach under his former Pistons teammate Bill Laimbeer with the Detroit Shock in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). His coaching prowess helped the team clinch two WNBA Championships in two thousand six and two thousand eight. Eventually, he took the helm as head coach of the Shock and later led Trilogy in the BIG3, guiding them to victory in the inaugural BIG3 Championship in two thousand seventeen. This remarkable achievement made Mahorn the only individual in history to win championships in the NBA, WNBA, and BIG3.
