Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Rickey Green

Rickey Green, born on August eighteenth, nineteen fifty-four, is a distinguished American former professional basketball player who made his mark in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Standing at six feet tall and weighing one hundred seventy pounds, Green showcased his skills as a point guard, leading Chicago's Hirsch High School to victory in the 1973 IHSA Class AA State championship.

His collegiate career began with the Vincennes Trailblazers before he transferred to the Michigan Wolverines. During his time with the Wolverines, Green's team faced a tough defeat against the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers in the championship game of the nineteen seventy-six NCAA tournament. However, he rebounded in the following season, guiding the Wolverines to the Big Ten regular season championship and earning All-American recognition in nineteen seventy-seven.

In the nineteen seventy-seven NBA draft, Green was selected as the sixteenth pick and went on to have a remarkable fourteen-season career. He played for several teams, including the Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics. His exceptional speed earned him the nickname 'The Fastest of Them All' from announcer Hot Rod Hundley.

One of the highlights of Green's career occurred in nineteen eighty-eight when he was a member of the Utah Jazz. He scored the five millionth point in NBA history with a buzzer-beating three-pointer against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Following this historic moment, he autographed the ball, which was later enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
