Rim Banna, born on December eighth, nineteen sixty-six, was a celebrated Palestinian singer-songwriter and composer, renowned for her innovative interpretations of traditional Palestinian music and poetry. Her artistic journey began in Nazareth, where she was raised and educated at the Nazareth Baptist School.
Throughout her life, Banna remained deeply connected to her roots, living in Nazareth with her three children. Her passion for music led her to the Higher Music Conservatory in Moscow, where she met her husband, Ukrainian guitarist Leonid Alexeyenko. The couple married in nineteen ninety-one, embarking on a shared musical journey that would influence Banna's work.
Despite their artistic collaboration, Banna and Alexeyenko's marriage ended in divorce in two thousand ten. Nevertheless, her commitment to her craft and her cultural heritage continued to shine through her music, making her a prominent figure in the Palestinian artistic community.
